Ryan found his way to Camp Henry in 2011. He grew up in Bennington, Vermont, and after graduating from Messiah College with a bachelor's in Adventure Education, Ryan continued pursuing his love of camping ministry by working as a Program Specialist at Camp Henry. Ryan grew up attending Deerfoot Lodge, an all-boys camp in Upstate New York. That is where he developed his passion for exploring the outdoors. Once he was old enough, he served on the maintenance crew there and found his niche working behind the scenes. Ryan moved to Iowa for a year to marry his wife, Emily, but was thrilled at the opportunity to return to Camp Henry and serve as Facilities Director in 2013.

Ryan loves working behind the scenes to make camp a beautiful place. He is especially good at using a chainsaw, tractor or any piece of power equipment or machinery. When Ryan is not working on stuff around camp, you can find him playing with his dog Boulder, hiking or finding a project to work on at home. Ryan can be quite elusive and tries to blend into the crowd (kind of like "Where's Waldo"), but keep your eyes peeled for a tall guy in a hat, and you might just be lucky enough to spot him.
