Hailing from the city of Detroit, Keneisha grew up in the heart of a big city and never experienced the camp environment. She has always had a desire to work with kids, but in the capacity of sports as a mentor or a coach; because growing up, she was a multi-sport and competitive athlete and sports are what she loved. After graduating from Grand Valley State University in the spring of 2014 with her BS in Physical Education and a Concentration in Sport Management; she was determined to pursue a career in athletics. It was upon receiving an email, shortly after graduation, offering an opportunity to work as a camp counselor in South Carolina that she gained the large passion and drive to work with kids in a camp setting. Keneisha didn’t attend camp as a kid, but after on summer working in the camp setting in South Carolina, she knew that working at camp and providing a camp experience for kids renewed her passion for working with kids and it was something she wanted to continue.

After three and a half years in South Carolina, serving in many roles over that time period as a Counselor, Program Coordinator, Assistant Director of Programs and 4H Summer Camp Director, she found her way to Camp Henry. She is excited to continue in her passion of positively impacting kids’ lives and assisting in providing safe and fun programs for all to enjoy. She is eager to share her wisdom and love for camp and to continue to grow and learn from kids and staff that she encounters.
