For teens that have completed their Junior or Senior year in High School, Camp Henry offers several different opportunities for teens to get plugged in at camp and to have positive and life changing experiences beyond the camper experience. See here or continue reading.

Assistant Counselors
Assistant Counselors are teens that are 16, 17, or 18 and have completed 11th or 12th grade. Assistant Counselors will be given the opportunity to serve alongside a counselor and to gain valuable hands-on experience working with and serving campers. Assistant Counselors will be required to register for a Leadership Training session and can plan to get plugged in to help during the summer, volunteering and serving our younger campers.

Junior Staff
Junior Staff members are teens that are at least 18 and have graduated from high school. During the summer Junior Staff member duties could include leading activities, working with our horses and the Frontier program, or jumping in to help with facilities, housekeeping, or food service. Our desire is to match the skills and abilities of each participant with an area of camp where they can help serve and meet some of Camp Henry’s needs.
Junior Staff members will have the chance to earn $125 per week while serving at camp. It is anticipated that Junior Staff members will serve for multiple weeks during the summer. Junior Staff members will be required to attend a Leadership Training session.
Download the Junior Staff member application below or call 616 717-5562.

Ages: must have completed 11th or 12th grade

The cost to attend a Training Session is $95. The sessions begin on Friday at 7 pm and run through Sunday at Noon.

Leadership Training Dates:
Session I: May 19 - 21
Session II: June 2 - 4
Session III: July 7 - 9

Residential Food Service
Camp Henry relies on many teens to serve during the summer as Residential Food Service members. These staff members need to be at least 17 years old – and will serve for a three-week session during the summer. Residential Food Service members will live at camp along with other Camp Henry program staff members and will spend the bulk of their time working and serving in the kitchen. Yet, each day Residential Food Service members will also have opportunities to connect and be involved with campers, programs, and activities at camp.
Residential Food Service members will earn $500 for working and serving for their three-week session. These staff members will attend an orientation and training session – to be scheduled with the Food Service Director – prior to serving during their assigned session. Interested teens can download the 2017 Staff Application here or call 616 717-5562.
Residential Food Service Sessions:
Session I: Staff Training – Week One (June 10th – July 1st)
Session II: Week 3 – 5 (July 9th – July 29th)
Session III: Week 6 – 8 (July 30th – August 19th)
