Camp Henry is excited and honored to be
partnering with Camp Sunshine during the
summer of 2014. Camp Sunshine offers
people ages 12 – 50 with developmental
disabilities the opportunity to attend summer
camp in a safe, caring, and inclusive
environment. There is joyful spirit about
Camp Sunshine that is transformative for
every person who attends and something
sacred about being part of a group where
everyone is loved and accepted “just the way
they are.”
Camp Sunshine has been serving campers
since 1983 – and after 30 years the camp is
now expanding. 2014 will mark the first
summer that Camp Sunshine will be held at
Camp Henry. The missions of the two camps
align perfectly. The mission of Camp Henry
is to provide life changing experiences for
all in a Christian environment. The mission
of Camp Sunshine is to provide a camping
experience for persons with developmental
disabilities in an inclusive environment that
embraces their recreational, emotional,
physical, spiritual, and relational needs.
From June 28th to July 6th, Camp Sunshine
will be taking place on the Shores of Old Lake
Kimball at Camp Henry.
All campers and volunteers for Camp
Sunshine will register and enroll through
Camp Sunshine.
