The Bell Tolls, It Tolls for.....
Sherrill Vore!
As the Camp Henry Dining Hall Renovation Project is nearing completion we have one final task to complete.
For decades, campers and guests have relied on the Camp Henry bell to help signal meal times, the end of rest period, and the beginning of a game of Capture the Flag. Over the past 79 years, Camp Henry has gone through multiple different bells.
The time has come to replace the old, worn-out (and cracked) bell with a wonderful replacement.
In addition, we are taking advantage of the current Dining Hall Project to be able to add a beautiful bell cupola on the peak of the roof – looking out over the lake.
The bell and new bell cupola are being put in place in honor of Sherrill Vore.
Sherrill is a well-loved and long time staff member at Westminster Presbyterian Church and helped lead countless Westminster Family Camps, prior to retiring in 2015.
Hundreds of family camp children have fond memories of Sherrill taking them by the hand to have the special opportunity to ring the camp bell.
We are honored to have the opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge Sherrill and all that she has done for Westminster and Family Campers over the years by adding this wonderful new bell in her honor.
Please consider a contribution to the Sherrill Vore Bell Project to help us raise the $4,000 needed to complete this special and lasting tribute to Sherrill.
