ASSISTANT PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Michael

Joe has been involved in the camping world ever since his first year at summer camp at 7 years old. Since graduating from Birmingham-Southern College with a degree in biology, he has worked at camps in Mississippi, Hawaii, and now Michigan, in every camp job imaginable; from maintenance staff to counselor to Summer Program Director, loving every one.

Joe grew up in the Southeast, living at a camp and retreat center his father worked at, where he first developed his love for the outdoors. Outside of work, he can often be found in either a hammock, a kayak, or the nearest tackle shop. Joe also enjoys college football (Roll Tide!), cooking, fishing, and exploring any local food or arts festival he can find. He is incredibly proud to be a part of the Camp Henry community, and has been known to always answer the question “Why would you want to leave Hawaii?” with the same response: “Camp Henry is just that amazing.”
