Camping

Looking for a place to venture into nature and enjoy camping with your troop? Let us create the perfect camping experience for you! We have a variety of lodging options for your troop: full-service cabins and lodges (heated/connected bathrooms), rustic frontier cabins, open-air sheltered camping, and rustic tent camping locations. All locations have campfire areas nearby for preparing your meals over the open flames! *Meal packages, in our dining hall, are also available.

Team Building, Low Ropes, Target Sports & High Adventure

Enjoy zany games in the fresh air and team building on the low ropes course before learning the ins and outs of taking aim in one of our three target sport areas: archery, slingshot, or hatchet throwing**. Wrap up the day with one of our many high adventure activities: Giant Swing, Rock Wall (ages 7 and up), Leap of Faith (ages 10 and up), Cargo Net Zipline (ages 10 and up), and High Ropes Course (ages 13 and up)! **Age and ability levels considered by Camp Henry Program Director before choosing which target sport activity is best for your group.

Winter Adventure

Strap on snowshoes** and tromp through DeVries woods while learning about our majestic forest of trees, stop along the way in our Sugar Shack to explore the maple syrup process and warm up with a cup of cocoa or hot tea. **sledding also available (weather & snow permitting)

Horse & Hike: Woodland Adventure (Ages 10 and up)

Spend time with our friendly horses, saddle your horses for a trail ride, then enjoy a meandering hike through DeVries woods and learn about the forest, build a fire and cook your lunch or a snack over the open flame.

Horse & Hike: Wetland Adventure (Ages 4-10)

Spend time with our friendly horses, hop on for a pony ride or engage in a wonderful horse activity, enjoy a meandering hike through our Wetland Trail and learn about the wetlands, build and cook your lunch or a snack over an open fire.

The Ultimate Hiking Adventure

Begin your day of hiking by exploring nature and reading maps, all while taking in the scenic views along the Dragon Trail in Newaygo County. Once you make it to Camp Henry, you’ll learn how to pack a backpack, gear and rations, before taking your second hike of the day out to our beautiful open air A-Frame campout location. You’ll set up camp, build a fire and cook dinner over the open flame with your troop. When the sun fades, prepare for a troop-led adventure: the night hike! The morning will bring your chance to break camp and ‘leave no trace’. (Camping and hiking options/distances can be adjusted for younger troops)
